Busy Day Cake

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

• Servings: 9
• 1 2/3 cups flour
• 1 cup sugar
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
• 1/3 cup shortening
• 2/3 cup milk
• 1 egg
• 1 teaspoon vanilla

Recipe

• 1 cream shortening and sugar.
• 2 add egg.
• 3 sift in flour, baking powder and salt.
• 4 add milk and vanilla. mix well.
• 5 put in a greased 9x9 pan.
• 6 bake at 350 degrees until done. (toothpick inserted comes out clean). start checking at 20 minutes. i haven't made this in a while, so i'm not sure. if it looks done enough to check with the toothpick at 20 minutes, then by all means, check it. it may take up to 30 minutes to bake.
