Basic Pound Cake.

Total Time: 1 hr 20 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 1 hr 5 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 12
  • 1/2 lb flour (any type of flour)
  • 1/2 lb egg (weigh eggs with their shells)
  • 1/2 lb soft butter
  • 1/2 lb sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350°.
  • 2 add all the ingredients to a bowl of a cake mixer.
  • 3 beat on high for 7 minutes.
  • 4 grease a loaf dish.
  • 5 pour cake batter into dish.
  • 6 bake for 65 minutes; check doneness with toothpick or cake tester.
  • 7 allow to cool covered with paper towel for 30 minutes.
  • 8 transfer to cooling rack and allow to cool covered.
  • 9 once cooled, cut into slices and serve.
