Burnt Sugar Cake

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 2 -3 tablespoons burnt sugar syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • pecan halves
  • 1/2-1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup boiling water

  • 1 burnt sugar syrup:.
  • 2 heat 1 cup sugar in a large skillet over low heat.
