Buttermilk Pound Cake

Ingredients
- 6 eggs
- 3 cups sugar
- 1/2 lb butter
- 3 cups flour
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Recipe
- 1 be sure to reserve 1 cup sugar for the egg whites.
- 2 separate egg yolks and whites.
- 3 mix all ingredients except whites.
- 4 beat egg whites and add 1 cup sugar continuing to beat until the whites are stiff.
- 5 gently fold the beaten egg whites into the cake batter.
- 6 bake in 350 degree oven for 1 1/2 hours or until done.
