Black Forest Brownie Torte

Ingredients
- Servings: 12
- 1 (19 7/8 ounce) brownie mix
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/3 cup oil
- 3 eggs
- 6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
- 21 ounces cherry pie filling
- 2 cups cool whip
- 1/4 cup sliced almonds, toasted
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 350.
- 2 grease and frour two 9" round pans.
- 3 prepare brownie mix according to pkg directions for cake like brownies.
- 4 stir chocolate chips into batter.
- 5 divide batter evenly between prepared pans.
- 6 bake 18-20 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
- 7 cool 10 minutes in pans.
- 8 loosen edges and remove from pans.
- 9 cool completely.
- 10 stir almond extract into cherry pie filling.
- 11 place one brownie onto serving plate.
- 12 top with 1 1/2 cups cool whip.
- 13 spread 1 cup cherry pie filling over cool whip.
- 14 top with second brownie layer.
- 15 spread remaining cherry filling over top.
- 16 decorate with dollop of cool whip.
- 17 sprinkle with sliced almonds.
