Black Pepper Christmas Cookies

Ingredients
- 3 cups flour, sifted
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 3 teaspoons ground ginger
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 cup butter, soft
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup confectioners' sugar, sifted
- 4 teaspoons water
Recipe
- 1 sift flour, baking powder and set aside.
- 2 mix the spices into the butter. blend in the sugar. beat in the egg.
- 3 stir in the flour mixture.
- 4 chill at least several hours or overnight.
- 5 preheat oven to 375°f.
- 6 roll on a lightly floured board to 1/8 inch. cut with cookie cutter.
- 7 bake for 8 to 10 minutes until lightly browned around the edges.
- 8 cool and ice.
- 9 store in an air tight container.
- 10 glaze:.
- 11 stir water into sugar and mix well.
