Butter Almond Bars

Ingredients

- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup butter, melted
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 tablespoons almonds, sliced and lightly toasted
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar (for garnish)
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 350º.
- 2 grease and flour 8-inch square pan.
- 3 lightly toast sliced almonds, set aside.
- 4 blend sugar and melted butter.
- 5 add beaten eggs, mixing well.
- 6 stir in almond & vanilla extracts.
- 7 mix together salt & flour; add to creamed mixture and mix well.
- 8 spread batter into pan.
- 9 sprinkle with granulated sugar and almonds.
- 10 bake 30-35 minutes.,.
- 11 *baking them for 30 minutes will give you a soft moist result, baking for 35 will give you a crunchy-topped delight.
