Butter Almond Bars

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 48
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup butter, melted
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons almonds, sliced and lightly toasted
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar (for garnish)

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350º.
  • 2 grease and flour 8-inch square pan.
  • 3 lightly toast sliced almonds, set aside.
  • 4 blend sugar and melted butter.
  • 5 add beaten eggs, mixing well.
  • 6 stir in almond & vanilla extracts.
  • 7 mix together salt & flour; add to creamed mixture and mix well.
  • 8 spread batter into pan.
  • 9 sprinkle with granulated sugar and almonds.
  • 10 bake 30-35 minutes.,.
  • 11 *baking them for 30 minutes will give you a soft moist result, baking for 35 will give you a crunchy-topped delight.
