Basic Gingerbread Dough

Ingredients
- 250 g butter, at room temp
- 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1 cup golden syrup
- 2 egg yolks
- 5 cups plain flour
- 2 teaspoons bicarbonate of soda
- 1 tablespoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
Recipe
- 1 place butter, syrup and yolks in a big bowl.
- 2 beat till creamy using electric mixer.
- 3 stir in all other ingredients.
- 4 using your hands bring the dough together.
- 5 knead on a lightly floured surface until smooth.
- 6 set aside for whatever project you have in mind - will make one house or 24 cookies !
