Buttery Cayenne Cashew Crunch

Total Time: 20 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole salted cashews
  • 10 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon light corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (or 1 teaspoon chipotle chile pepper)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Recipe

  • 1 butter a non-stick baking sheet.
  • 2 combine all ingredients in a large non-stick skillet.
  • 3 stir over low heat until butter melts and sugars dissolve.
  • 4 increase heat to medium and boil, stirring constantly until mixture turns golden brown, thickens, and begins to mass together (foams), about 5 minutes.
  • 5 immediately pour out onto prepared baking sheet, spreading evenly.
  • 6 cool completely. break into pieces.
