Butter Cream Frosting From The Plaza

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/8 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 5 egg yolks
  • 1 1/4 cups softened kerry irish gold sweet butter
  • 1 tablespoon good brandy

Recipe

  • 1 combine sugar, water and cream of tartar in a saucepan until the sugar dissolves.
  • 2 cook over medium heat until syrup reaches 230 degrees, or until it spins a thread.
