Almond Butter Balls - Danish Mandelsmørboller

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 3 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 cup chopped almonds
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Recipe

  • 1 cream butter and sugar. add vanilla and almond extracts and mix well. stir in flour and fold in the chopped almonds. you may need an additional 1/2 cup of flour to get a good consistency.
  • 2 shape in small balls and place on parchment lined cookie sheets.
  • 3 bake in a preheated 350º oven about 20 minutes, until slightly browned. roll in powdered sugar while warm. or, for less mess, shake in a ziplock with powdered sugar while warm.
