Boston Cream Cheese Pie

Ingredients

- 1 (18 ounce) package yellow cake mix
- 2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 1/3 cup sour cream
- 2 ounces unsweetened chocolate squares
- 3 tablespoons margarine
- 2 tablespoons cold water
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Recipe
- 1 grease bottom of a 9-inch springform pan.
- 2 prepare cake mix as directed on package; pour batter evenly into springform pan.
- 3 bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
- 4 combine cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla, mixing at medium speed on electric mixer until well blended.
- 5 add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- 6 blend in sour cream; pour over cake layer.
- 7 bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.
- 8 loosen cake from rim of pan, cool before remiving rim of pan.
- 9 bring water to a boil in bottom of double boiler.
- 10 remove from heat.
- 11 melt chocolate with margarine in top of double boiler, stirring until smooth.
- 12 add water and remaining ingredients, mix well.
- 13 spread over cheesecake.
- 14 chill several hours.
- 15 garnish with strawberries if desired.
