Baked Pears Elegante For 2

Ingredients

- 2 medium fresh bartlett pears
- 1/2 cup port wine
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 inches cinnamon sticks
- 3 whole cloves
- 1 dash salt
- 3 thin lemon slices
Recipe
- 1 pare, halve, and core pears; place in 1-quart baking dish.
- 2 in a saucepan, combine remaining ingredients; add a few drops red food coloring if desired.
- 3 bring to boiling; pour over pears. bake, covered, at 350 degrees for 20 minute.
- 4 uncover and bake 10 minutes or till tender, basting once or twice.
- 5 serve hot, or chill and top with whipped cream.
