Berner Brezeli

Total Time: 1 hr 30 mins Preparation Time: 1 hr Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 250 g butter (soft)
  • 250 g caster sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 lemon, zest of, only
  • 4 eggs
  • 500 g flour

Recipe

  • 1 whip butter, sugar, salt and lemon zest until frothy.
  • 2 mix in the flour and knead until you have a nice dough.
  • 3 leave to rest for at least 1/2 hour.
  • 4 form rolls of the thickness of a finger.
  • 5 cut rolls intos small pieces and form balls of the thickness of a hazelnut.
  • 6 put 4 balls on the ornaments of the iron.
  • 7 close iron with care.
  • 8 slightly press iron while brezeli are baking.
  • 9 keep in a metallic box.
