Bavarian Apple Torte

Ingredients

- 1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup flour
- 18 ounces cream cheese
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 4 cups sliced apples
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 cup sliced almonds
Recipe
- 1 cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- 2 add flour; mix well.
- 3 spread dough onto bottom and1 1/2 half inches high up sides of 9-inch springform pan.
- 4 combine softened cream cheese and sugar, mixing until well blended.
- 5 blend in egg and vanilla.
- 6 pour into pastry lined pan.
- 7 toss apples with combined sugar and cinnamon.
- 8 spoon apple mixture over cream cheese layer.
- 9 sprinkle with nuts.
- 10 bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes.
- 11 reduce oven temperature to 400 degrees; continue baking 25 minutes.
- 12 loosen cake from rim of pan.
- 13 cool; remove rim. chill.
