Bavarian Apple Torte

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup flour
  • 18 ounces cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 4 cups sliced apples
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds

Recipe

  • 1 cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • 2 add flour; mix well.
  • 3 spread dough onto bottom and1 1/2 half inches high up sides of 9-inch springform pan.
  • 4 combine softened cream cheese and sugar, mixing until well blended.
  • 5 blend in egg and vanilla.
  • 6 pour into pastry lined pan.

  • 10 bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes.
  • 11 reduce oven temperature to 400 degrees; continue baking 25 minutes.
  • 12 loosen cake from rim of pan.
  • 13 cool; remove rim. chill.
