Almond Roca

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 1/2 cups slivered almonds (approx)
- 2 cups chocolate chips (approx)
- soda cracker (enough to cover cookie sheet)
Recipe
- 1 melt butter in small saucepan, then add the brown sugar and vanilla. bring to a gentle boil, stirring constantly.
- 2 remove from heat.
- 3 line a cookie sheet with tin foil (grease foil with a little butter).
- 4 arrange crackers side by side on cookie sheet until it's covered.
- 5 pour butter/sugar/vanilla mixture evenly over crackers.
- 6 place in 350°f oven for 8 minutes.
- 7 turn oven off.
- 8 remove cookie sheet from oven and spread the chocolate chips evenly over crackers.
- 9 return to oven for a minute or two (just long enough to melt chips).
- 10 remove cookie sheet from oven and smear chocolate chips all over crackers.
- 11 top with slivered almonds.
- 12 place in fridge or freezer to set (maybe a hour!).
- 13 break into pieces and serve.
- 14 get ready to make more, because one pan will not be enough!
