Bread Pudding

Total Time: 55 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 40 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 12
  • 8 cups bread
  • 2 1/4 cups milk
  • 2 3/4 cups heavy cream
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • 3 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Recipe

  • 1 cube bread and place in a greased 13in x 9in x 2in baking dish.
  • 2 in a large bowl, whisk the eggs, milk,1-3/4 cup cream, 1 cup sugar, 3/4 cup melted butter, vanilla and cinnamon. pour evenly over bread.
  • 3 bake uncovered at 350* for 40-45 minutes or until knife inserted near the center comes out clean. let stand for 5 minutes before cutting.
  • 4 meanwhile, in a small saucepan, bring 1 cup sugar, water, and lemon juice to a boil.
  • 5 reduce heat to medium; cook until sugar is dissolved and amber color.
  • 6 stir in 2 tablespoons butter until melted.
  • 7 add 1 cup cream.
  • 8 remove from the heat. serve with bread pudding.
