Bizcochos (mexican Holiday Cookies)

Ingredients
- 2 cups lard (not shortening)
- 1 cup sweet wine or 1 cup any fruit juice
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon anise seed
- 2 egg yolks
- 3 cups flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 teaspoons cinnamon
Recipe
- 1 whip lard until creamy.
- 2 mix wine (or fruit juice), 1 cup sugar, 1 tablespoon cinnamon and anise.
- 3 add this to lard.
- 4 mix with wooden spoon.
- 5 add egg yolks; mix well.
- 6 add sufficient flour to make a soft dough; roll out 1/2 inch thick.
- 7 cut in desired shapes and place on greased cookie sheet.
- 8 bake 15 minutes at 350 degrees.
- 9 check often to prevent burning.
- 10 mix remaining cinnamon and sugar.
- 11 dredge cookies in this mixture while they are still warm.
