- 1/4 cup butter (margarine works too)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 22 ounces fig preserves
Recipe
- 1 place butter in a 2 quart baking dish. bake at 375* until butter melts. remove from oven, and set aside.
- 2 combine flour, sugar, and baking powder in a large bowl. add milk, egg, and vanilla, stirring until smooth. pour batter into baking dish; spoon preserves over batter.
- 3 bake at 375* for 40 min., covering dish with aluminum foil after 20 minute serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
