Apple Cake (apfelkuchen)

Ingredients

• 1 cup shortening
• 1 1/2 cups sugar
• 2 eggs
• 1/2 teaspoon lemon extract
• 3 1/2 cups flour, sifted
• 5 teaspoons baking powder
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 1/3 cups milk
• 8 cups apples, pared, cored and thinly sliced
• 1 cup sugar
• 2 tablespoons flour
• 1 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1 dash nutmeg

Recipe

• 1 preheat oven to 350ºf.
