Brown Sugar Blondies

Total Time: 45 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 1/2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup toasted pecans

Recipe

  • 1 put the oven rack on middle and heat the oven to 350 f.
  • 2 in a medium saucepan over medium heat add the butter and brown sugar, stirring frequently until the sugar has dissolved and stir for about 1 minute longer.
  • 3 set the pan aside to cool for about 10 minutes.
  • 4 butter an 8 inch square pan and line the pan bottom with parchment paper and then butter the parchment paper.
  • 5 stir the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla into the cooled sugar mixture.
  • 6 add the flour, salt, and nuts, stirring until blended.
  • 7 pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake until the center springs back when touched and a toothpick comes out clean (from 25-35 minutes).
