Brown Sugar Blondies

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 1/2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 large egg yolk
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup toasted pecans
Recipe
- 1 put the oven rack on middle and heat the oven to 350 f.
- 2 in a medium saucepan over medium heat add the butter and brown sugar, stirring frequently until the sugar has dissolved and stir for about 1 minute longer.
- 3 set the pan aside to cool for about 10 minutes.
- 4 butter an 8 inch square pan and line the pan bottom with parchment paper and then butter the parchment paper.
- 5 stir the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla into the cooled sugar mixture.
- 6 add the flour, salt, and nuts, stirring until blended.
- 7 pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake until the center springs back when touched and a toothpick comes out clean (from 25-35 minutes).
