Butterscotch Brownies

Ingredients

  • Servings: 25
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups well-packed light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup chopped walnuts (optional ( i never add them....)

Recipe

  • 1 heat oven to 350 degrees and butter an 8 x 10 inch baking pan.
  • 2 melt butter in saucepan over low heat. remove from heat and add the sugar. combine well.
  • 3 let mixture cool to room temperature then transfer to large mixing bowl.
  • 4 add eggs, mixing while adding.
  • 5 sift the flour, baking powder, and salt into a bowl.
  • 6 slowly add dry ingredients to wet, stirring while adding.
  • 7 when well combined stir in the vanilla and walnuts, if using.
  • 8 scrape the batter into pan.
  • 9 bake brownies for 35 to 45 minutes, or until a knife comes out clean.
  • 10 remove from oven and let cool for about 20 minutes before cutting.
  • 11 enjoy!
