Butterscotch Brownies

Ingredients

- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups well-packed light brown sugar
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup chopped walnuts (optional ( i never add them....)
Recipe
- 1 heat oven to 350 degrees and butter an 8 x 10 inch baking pan.
- 2 melt butter in saucepan over low heat. remove from heat and add the sugar. combine well.
- 3 let mixture cool to room temperature then transfer to large mixing bowl.
- 4 add eggs, mixing while adding.
- 5 sift the flour, baking powder, and salt into a bowl.
- 6 slowly add dry ingredients to wet, stirring while adding.
- 7 when well combined stir in the vanilla and walnuts, if using.
- 8 scrape the batter into pan.
- 9 bake brownies for 35 to 45 minutes, or until a knife comes out clean.
- 10 remove from oven and let cool for about 20 minutes before cutting.
