Candy-topped Bars

Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup cold butter
- 1/2 cup pecans, chopped
- 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2-1 cup miniature m&m baking bits
Recipe
- 1 in a large bowl, combine flour and brown sugar.
- 2 cut in butter unil mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- 3 stir in pecans.
- 4 set aside 1/2 cup for topping.
- 5 press remaining crumb mixture into a greased 9 inch square pan.
- 6 bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.
- 7 in a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar.
- 8 add egg, milk, lemon juice, and vanilla.
- 9 mix well.
- 10 pour over warm crust.
- 11 sprinkle with reserved crumb mixture.
- 12 bake for 25-30 minutes or until set.
- 13 immediately sprinkle with baking bits.
- 14 cool on a wire rack. cut into bars and refrigerate leftovers.
