Caramel Cake

Total Time: 1 hr Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 40 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 125 g butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon golden syrup
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 1/2 cups self-raising flour
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa

Recipe

  • 1 turn oven to 170 degrees.
  • 2 grease and flour a 20cm round tin.
  • 3 cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • 4 beat in egg.
  • 5 beat well.
  • 6 put milk, syrup and soda in a pan.
  • 7 heat gently, don't boil!
  • 8 sift flour into a bowl.
  • 9 add milk mixture.
  • 10 mix well.
  • 11 spread only half of the mixture into prepared tin.
  • 12 add cocoa to rest of batter.
  • 13 mix it well.
  • 14 add to prepared tin - don't mix it up.
  • 15 bake 40-45 minutes.
