Butter Tarts

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • 14 large tart shells or 18 miniature tart shells
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • raisins or walnut pieces

Recipe

  • 1 preheat the oven to 375 degrees. line up tart shells on a baking sheet and put 4 or 5 raisins in each shell. (you may want to use less if using the mini shells). if using walnut pieces, sprinkle a small amount in each shell. in a bowl, beat the egg and sugar together with a fork until smooth. stir in the melted butter, lemon juice and nutmeg. spoon into tart shells until about half full. bake for 15 to 20 minutes. allow to stand for a few minutes when done and then remove to a plate or rack to cool. enjoy!
