Bourbon Flamed Apples

Ingredients

  • Servings: 2
  • 2 large tart apples, cored, peeled, and cut in 1/8 inch slices
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons warmed bourbon
  • creme fraiche or ice cream

Recipe

  • 1 combine the apple slices and lemon juice in bowl.
  • 2 melt butter in medium skillet over medium heat.
  • 3 add the apples and cook, turning frequently, until crisp-tender (about 10 minutes).
  • 4 stir in the brown sugar.
  • 5 add the bourbon and ignite, shaking the skillet gently until the flame subsides.
  • 6 serve warm with ice cream (my favorite) or creme fraiche.
