Bourbon Flamed Apples

Ingredients

- 2 large tart apples, cored, peeled, and cut in 1/8 inch slices
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons warmed bourbon
- creme fraiche or ice cream
Recipe
- 1 combine the apple slices and lemon juice in bowl.
- 2 melt butter in medium skillet over medium heat.
- 3 add the apples and cook, turning frequently, until crisp-tender (about 10 minutes).
- 4 stir in the brown sugar.
- 5 add the bourbon and ignite, shaking the skillet gently until the flame subsides.
- 6 serve warm with ice cream (my favorite) or creme fraiche.
