Black Walnut Pound Cake

Ingredients

- 1 cup margarine
- 1/2 cup crisco
- 2 3/4 cups sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 teaspoons black walnut flavoring (if using extract i use only 1tsp.)
- 1/2 cup finely chopped black walnut
- 1/2 cup margarine
- 2 teaspoons black walnut flavoring
- 1 (3 ounce) package cream cheese
- 1 lb confectioners' sugar
- 1/2 cup finely chopped black walnut
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 300.
- 2 grease and flour tube pan.
- 3 i start at the top and add all items on list one by one until i have it all in the bowl and mix until smooth.
- 4 bake for 1 hour 35 minutes or until cake tests done.
- 5 remove from oven and let set 10 minutes.
- 6 remove cake from pan and let it cool completely.
- 7 butter cream frosting:.
- 8 soften margarine and cream cheese. mix together all ingredients except nuts.add flavoring last.if mixture is too thick to spread add a few drops of water. apply to cake then sprinkle with nuts.
