Brown Sugar Icebox Cookies

Total Time: 27 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 12 mins

Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups light brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup nuts, chopped fine

Recipe

  • 1 sift dry ingredients together.
  • 2 cream butter and sugar together; add eggs and vanilla.
  • 3 add the dry ingredients and finally the nuts together.
  • 4 using sheets of wax paper drop about a cup and 1/2 of the cookie mixture onto the paper and roll into logs, sealing the cookie dough inside the wax paper.
  • 5 place in refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
  • 6 unwrap the wax paper and slice about 1/4 inch thick slices and place on cookie sheet.
  • 7 bake in a preheated 375f oven for 10-12 minutes.
  • 8 store in any cookie jar.
