Caramel-walnut Brownies

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup baking cocoa
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 12 vanilla caramels
  • 1 tablespoon milk

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350.
  • 2 grease 9x9x2 baking pan.
  • 3 mix sugar, butter, vanilla, and eggs.
  • 4 in separate bowl mix flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt.
  • 5 mix wet and dry ingredients until well-incorporated.
  • 6 add walnuts.
  • 7 spread evenly in pan.
  • 8 bake 20 to 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  • 9 while brownies are in oven, heat caramels and milk over low heat (or in double boiler) and stir until melted and smooth.
  • 10 drizzle caramel over warm brownies.
  • 11 cool completely before cutting into 4 rows by 4 rows.
