1930's Apple And Nut Pie

Ingredients
- 1 refrigerated pie crust (1/2 package)
- 1 1/4 cups light brown sugar, packed
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
- 3 granny smith apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
Recipe
- 1 heat oven to 450°f
- 2 fit pie crust into a 9 inch pie plate.
- 3 prick with a fork and crimp edges.
- 4 bake about 11 minutes or until golden brown.
- 5 cool completely.
- 6 in a large bowl, beat 1 cup of the brown sugar and the flour, butter and walnuts together until crumbly, set aside.
- 7 arrange half of the apple slices in crust.
- 8 sprinkle remaining 1/4 cup of sugar on top.
- 9 add remaining apple slices and top with crumb mixture.
- 10 reduce oven heat to 350f and bake pie 1 hour or until browned.
