Caramel Pudding Cake

Ingredients

- 1 cup sugar
- 4 -5 cups water
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 cups flour
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 cup water
- 1 tablespoon shortening
- 1 cup raisins
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Recipe
- 1 spread sugar in frying pan and stir until caramelized.
- 2 add the water and simmer until sugar and water form a caramel sauce.
- 3 meanwhile, boil the raisins with the water and the shortening.
- 4 mix the first four ingredients together.
- 5 add the vanilla to the raisin mixture, and then add this to the flour mixture.
- 6 stir together.
- 7 put sauce in 9x13 pan and add the batter by spoonfuls over the top.
- 8 bake at 350º till warm and bubbly, approximately 30 minutes.
- 9 serve with whipped cream or ice cream over the top. delicious!
