Caramel Dessert

Ingredients

  • Servings: 16
  • 1 3/4 cups flour
  • 1 cup chopped pecans (or walnuts)
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup melted butter (or margarine)
  • 1 1/2 cups caramel ice cream topping
  • 8 cups vanilla ice cream

Recipe

  • 1 in a large mixing bowl combine flour, pecans, brown sugar and rolled oats.
  • 2 add melted butter and mix well.
  • 3 pat in a thin layer on a baking sheet and bake at 400°f for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • 4 crumble while still warm. then cool and put half of the crumb mixture in a 9x13-inch pan (or tupperware container).
  • 5 drizzle the crumbs with half of the caramel sauce. next spread the ice cream over the caramel, (ice cream slightly melted to make spreading easier).
  • 6 top with remaining crumbs and drizzle the remainder of the caramel sauce over the top. cover and freeze.
  • 7 to serve: cut into serving slices. (remove from freezer 1/2 hour before serving).
