Butterscotch Bars

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup magnolia gold butter
- 1/2 cup liquid glucose
- 2 cups all-purpose flour, plus
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ferna vanilla flavoring
- 2 whole eggs
- 3/4 cup coarsely chopped cashew nuts
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 325°f.
- 2 line a 9 x 13 x 2 rectangular pan with aluminum foil.
- 3 set aside.
- 4 sift bread flour, cake flour and salt 3x.
- 5 set aside.
- 6 in a small saucepan, melt butter over low fire.
- 7 remove from heat the transfer in the bowl of the mixer.
- 8 add brown sugar, liquid glucose and vanilla extract.
- 9 beat on medium speed until combined.
- 10 add eggs one at a time, mixing until blended.
- 11 at low speed, add dry ingredients and cashew nuts.
- 12 pour mixture into the prepared pan.
- 13 bake fro 30-45 minutes until top is firm.
- 14 cool on wire rack.
- 15 cut into bars.
