Butterscotch Bars

Total Time: 55 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 45 mins

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup magnolia gold butter
  • 1/2 cup liquid glucose
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour, plus
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ferna vanilla flavoring
  • 2 whole eggs
  • 3/4 cup coarsely chopped cashew nuts

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 325°f.
  • 2 line a 9 x 13 x 2” rectangular pan with aluminum foil.
  • 3 set aside.
  • 4 sift bread flour, cake flour and salt 3x.
  • 5 set aside.
  • 6 in a small saucepan, melt butter over low fire.
  • 7 remove from heat the transfer in the bowl of the mixer.
  • 8 add brown sugar, liquid glucose and vanilla extract.
  • 9 beat on medium speed until combined.
  • 10 add eggs one at a time, mixing until blended.
  • 11 at low speed, add dry ingredients and cashew nuts.
  • 12 pour mixture into the prepared pan.
  • 13 bake fro 30-45 minutes until top is firm.
  • 14 cool on wire rack.
  • 15 cut into bars.
