Black Walnut Loaf

Ingredients

- 1 egg
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 cup chopped black walnut
- 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
- 1 -2 tablespoon milk or 1 -2 tablespoon cream
- 1 dash salt
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Recipe
- 1 beat eggs and sugar. add milk and blend well. sift flour with salt and baking powder and add inches when blended, stir in nuts. pour into greased loaf pan.
- 2 bake in a preheated 350°f oven for 1 hour. cool in pan 10 minutes, then turn out onto a rack to cool completely.
- 3 meanwhile, whisk confectioner's sugar with milk, salt and vanilla until smooth. pour over cooled loaf.
