Brown Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

• 1 cup shortening
• 1 egg
• 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
• 2 cups flour
• 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 1/4 teaspoon salt

Recipe

• 1 preheat oven to 350 degrees.
• 2 in a large bowl cream shortening, brown sugar, egg and vanilla until light and fluffy.
• 3 mix in flour, baking soda and salt.
• 4 shape dough into 1 inch balls.
• 5 place 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
• 6 bake at 350 degrees for 9-10 minutes or until golden brown.
