Caramelized Plantains

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 4 plantains, peeled
  • 1/4 cup cooking oil
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 tablespoon vinegar

Recipe

  • 1 cut peeled plantains in thick wedges or slices.
  • 2 fry plantain in hot cooking oil for 2 minutes, drain, and set apart.
  • 3 mix sugar and vinegar and cook on stovetop to hard ball stage.
  • 4 dip plantains in cooked syrup or pour syrup over them.
  • 5 let cool and serve.
