Caramelized Pear Tart

Ingredients
- Servings: 4
- 1 lb shortcrust pastry
- 4 dessert pears
- 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 pinch nutmeg
- 1/8 cup milk
Recipe
- 1 roll out half of your short crust pastry block.
- 2 smooth the rolled out pastry into the pie dish.
- 3 cut and prepare the pears into medium sized round circles.
- 4 pour 1/4 cups of water into a pot then add the pears into the pot.
- 5 pour all the sugar on top of the pears then add the whole cinnamon stick and the nutmeg.
- 6 let the pears simmer, so the pears caramelize.
- 7 pour most of the syrup into a cup.
- 8 roll out 1/4 peices of the pastry block and cut 6 peices the size of the sandwich tin.
- 9 pour the pears onto the sandwich dish full of pastry.
- 10 design a criss cross pattern on to the pears.
- 11 dip a pastry brush into some milk and run a 1 thin layer of milk over the pastry strips.
- 12 put in the oven for 15- 25 minutes.
