Caramelised Walnuts Made With Fresh Grape Juice

Total Time: 55 mins Preparation Time: 25 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 cups walnut halves
  • 2 cups soft brown sugar
  • 1 cup fresh grape juice
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch cinnamon

Recipe

  • 1 take aluminium foil and then line your oven tray with it.
  • 2 brush it lightly with oil and set aside.
  • 3 put the nuts on a dry oven tray.
  • 4 pre-heat your oven to 180°c.
  • 5 roast the nuts in the pre-heated oven for 5 minutes or until lightly toasted.
  • 6 remove from oven and allow to cool.
  • 7 take a pan and in it, put the brown sugar, grape juice, salt and cinnamon.
  • 8 stir and cook on medium flame{without boiling} until the sugar has melted completely.
  • 9 bring it to a boil.
  • 10 lower flame slightly and boil for 10-15 minutes or until the mixture turns into a thick syrup.
  • 11 remove the pan from heat.
  • 12 add the roasted walnuts.
  • 13 stir well to coat the nuts in the delicious syrup.
  • 14 line an oven tray with aluminium foil.
  • 15 lift each walnut piece with a fork.
  • 16 place it on the lined tray.
  • 17 allow the caramelised walnuts to cool completely.
  • 18 once the walnuts have cooled completely,store them in between sheets of waxed paper in an airtight container.
  • 19 store for upto 2 days.
  • 20 i'm sure, being how delish they are, they'll be gone sooner than that!
