Caramel Sauce

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon plain flour
  • vanilla essence
  • 2 ounces butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg yolk

Recipe

  • 1 in a saucepan, mix together the flour and sugar until well blended.
  • 2 chop the butter into small pieces.
  • 3 add a little of the milk to the flour and sugar and mix well until smooth and then add the rest of the ingredients.
  • 4 stir over a medium heat and when mixture starts to thicken, remove from heat and beat well with electric mixer.
  • 5 mixture will thicken more when cool.
