Caramel Corn

Total Time: 20 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 6 cups popped popcorn
  • 1/2 cup of toasted nuts (or your favorite)
  • 3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons light corn syrup
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda

Recipe

  • 1 heat oven to 250 degrees.
  • 2 spread popped popcorn on 15x10x1 baking pan.
  • 3 sprinkle nuts over popcorn.
  • 4 in large saucepan combine brown sugar, butter, 2 tbsp.
  • 5 water, corn syrup, and salt.
  • 6 mix well.
  • 7 bring to boil over medium heat.
  • 8 boil 2 minutes stirring constantly.
  • 9 remove saucepan from heat.
  • 10 stir in baking soda until well mixed.
  • 11 immediately pour over popcorn and nuts, toss until coated.
  • 12 bake for 15 minutes.
  • 13 stir, then bake 5 more minutes.
  • 14 immediately spread on foil or waxed paper to cool.
