Butterscotch Bars

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 cup butter or 1/4 cup margarine, softened
- 2 large egg whites
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- cooking spray
- 1/2 cup butterscotch chips
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 350°.
- 2 cream sugars and margarine at medium speed until well-blended (about 4 minutes.) add egg whites and vanilla; beat well.
- 3 lightly spoon flour into measuring cups; level with a knife.
- 4 combine flour, baking powder and salt; stir well with a whisk.
- 5 add flour mixture to butter mixture; beat at low speed just until blended.
- 6 spread batter evenly in an 8" square pan that has been sprayed with cooking spray.
- 7 sprinkle evenly with butterscotch morsels.
- 8 bake at 350° for 28-30 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- 9 cool and cut into squares.
