Butterscotch Almond Bars

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 2 cups packed brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 ounce semisweet chocolate
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup corn syrup
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups sliced almonds
Recipe
- 1 set oven to 350 degrees.
- 2 grease a 13" x 9" baking dish.
- 3 combine flour and baking powder; set aside.
- 4 blend in sugar into melted butter.
- 5 beat in eggs and vanilla.
- 6 stir in flour mixture.
- 7 spread batter into greased prepared baking pan (don't pack down too hard).
- 8 bake for 20 minutes.
- 9 remove from oven.
- 10 to prepare nutty topping: melt butter in small saucepan.
- 11 add and mix in sugar, cornsyrup, water a salt.
- 12 bring mixture to boil; boil 4 minutes, stirring constantly.
- 13 stir in sliced almonds.
- 14 spread nutty topping evenly over baked crust.
- 15 bake 15 minutes longer.
- 16 cool.
- 17 melt chocolate; drizzle over bars.
- 18 cut into bars.
