Banana Split Cake

Ingredients

- 8 ice cream sandwiches
- 3 pints strawberry ice cream, softened
- 1 cup hot fudge, warmed
- 1 cup heavy cream, whipped
- 1/3 cup walnuts, chopped
- 1 ripe banana, sliced
- 1 maraschino cherry (to garnish)
Recipe
- 1 cake:.
- 2 chill 9-inch springform pan in freezer.
- 3 cut each ice cream sandwich into quarters.
- 4 arrange quartered ice cream sandwiches vertically along the inside wall of chilled pan.
- 5 transfer pan to freezer until sandwiches are firm.
- 6 fill center of pan with strawberry ice cream and smooth top surface.
- 7 cover with plastic wrap and freeze until firm, 2 hours.
- 8 to serve:.
- 9 remove cake from pan and transfer to serving platter.
- 10 spoon warmed fudge sauce onto center of cake and spread almost to the edge.
- 11 dollop with whipped cream and top with nuts and sliced banana, top with cherry.
