Brownie Alaskas

Ingredients

- 1 (14 1/8 ounce) package brownie mix (betty crocker hershey's chunk supreme)
- 3 tablespoons water
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 gallon ice cream (peppermint, strawberry or coffee)
- 5 egg whites
- 1/2 cup sugar
Recipe
- 1 make brownie mix according to package directions, using a 9 inch square pan; let cool completely. cut brownies into 3 inch squares.
- 2 arrange brownies on a cookie sheet; top each brownie with a scoop of ice cream. freeze at least an hour.
- 3 beat egg whites (at room temperature) until frothy. gradually add sugar, 1 tbsp at a time, beating until stiff peaks form.
- 4 remove ice cream topped brownies from freezer. spread meringue over ice cream, sealing to edge of brownie. bake at 500 degrees f. for 2 to 3 minutes or until meringue is lightly browned.
- 5 serve brownie alaskas immediately.
- 6 time includes freezing time.
