Browned Butter Pecan Pie

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter (no substitutions)
- 3/4 cup light corn syrup
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1 (9 inch) pie shells, unbaked
- whipped cream, for topping
Recipe
- 1 set oven to 425 degrees.
- 2 over low to medium heat, cook butter in a saucepan, watching closely but not stirring, until golden brown (about 5-8 minutes) do not burn.
- 3 pour browned butter into a bowl; set aside.
- 4 in a food processor, blend corn syrup, honey, sugar, eggs, vanilla and salt until smooth.
- 5 add the browned butter; blend again.
- 6 add pecans, and process with just a few on-off pulses.
- 7 pour the mixture into pie shell.
- 8 bake at 425 degrees for 10 minutes; lower heat to 325 degrees; bake for another 40 minutes.
- 9 note: center of pie will seem a bit liquidy when removed from oven, it will set up further as it cools.
- 10 let cool completely.
- 11 serve with real whipped cream.
