Apple Galette With Cider Drizzle

Ingredients

  • 3 cups apple cider
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 1/2 lbs green apples, cored and thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup sugar, plus more for sprinkling
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 large egg, beaten with 1 teaspoon water
  • vanilla ice cream, for serving

Recipe

  • 1 in a large saucepan, boil the cider until reduced to 1/2 cup, about 15 minutes. stir in the cream and boil until thickened, about 2 minutes.
  • 2 pour into a bowl, then whisk in 2 tablespoons butter and the vanilla. refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  • 3 meanwhile, unfold the puff pastry on a floured surface. roll out to a 10-by-12-inch rectangle. refrigerate on a parchment-paper-lined baking sheet for 20 minutes.
