Brownie Angel Pie

Ingredients
- 3 egg whites, room temperature
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup chocolate wafer crumbs
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans or 1/2 cup walnuts
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons cocoa
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 tablespoons grated chocolate
Recipe
- 1 for the meringue crust, beat egg whites, salt and cream of tartar until a it forms a stiff froth. add the sugar gradually, until the mixture is very stiff and the sugar is dissolved.
- 2 fold in wafer crumbs, pecans and vanilla. spread in a greased 9 inch pie plate pressing the mixture up the sides slightly to form a shell. bake in 325f oven about 35 minutes until dry. cool.
- 3 to make the filling you beat the whipping cream, cocoa, sugar and vanilla in a small bowl until stiff. spread over pie.
- 4 for a garnish sprinkle with grated chocolate.
